Bonus Tip | How to Increase Your Self-Esteem

In my article “How to Increase Your Self-Esteem,” I have shared my six tips of how to increase your self-esteem. But, I also have a bonus tip. This one has to do with my faith and belief, my favorite one actually. This one has major impact on me since I am a born-again Christian.

  • Read and listen to faith building messages

To you it can be a really good quote or phrase, maybe a motivational and inspiring teaching, or a really good article or book. To some of us it can also be about reading the Bible, and spending time in God’s Word and listening to teachings about faith. We all need to have faith, because faith is the catalyst for so many things.

In the Bible, in the book of Romans chapter 10 verse 17, it says “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ.” And in the book of Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6, it says “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.”

Reading and listening to faith building messages help me increase my self-esteem. I have to listen to and read about what God has to say about me, and not just once, but repeatedly. And most of the time the messages are God loves me, in His eyes, I am loved, worthy, and valuable, He is my ever-present helper. Therefore, when I keep listening  to these messages over and over again, my faith increases, or I get more faith, and hence increases my self-esteem. So, if I was in a place where I was down and disappointed, that will lift me and cheer me up. If I was in a place where I lost confidence, or I need confidence to tackle the things in my life, reading and listening to faith building messages will renew my confidence, or add more confidence to what I already have.

I know some of the people who come from different belief systems may be reading this, but I think they may find this to resonate also with their beliefs, and faith journeys.
