The Law of Cause and Effect

renew-your-mindWhen I first realized I was not really getting the results I wanted, I figure out there must be something wrong, either with me, or in my life. I was willing to change but with my old mindset and programming that I have developed since my childhood, what I have been told, taught, and influenced so far, I couldn’t make the changes I wanted.

In the middle of my unfavorable circumstances, I began to desire to want to get better, to change my life. And I was thinking constantly of how I can begin the process, because I really wanted to succeed in all endeavors in my life. And to be honest, the first place I run to was to God. After that my journey began slowly; I started attracting things, and developed a desire to read books and listening to teachings to expound things into my knowledge. I wanted to know more about these successful people, and to know more about successful principles. I also wanted to know God’s perspective on things, therefore The Bible became part of regular reading.

You need to prepare to become the person you need to be in order to succeed, and it all starts when you begin to change your programming, your mindset. Find out what successful think about, what they know about, what make them successful, what are their habits; all these information are part of successful people mindsets and programming that we need to know about so that we can adopt these new mindsets to help us also to succeed. Whatever area in your life, whatever you are interested in, the best thing you can do is to find the people who have mastered it, or the people who are mastering that, and follow their examples. So it reached a point I wanted to become them, to take actions they take so that I can also be successful like them. Therefore I became a student; I am still to this day.

The universal law of cause and effect states that for every effect there is a definite or specific cause, and for every cause there is a definite or specific effect. In other words, the law says that for every action there is a reaction.

Whatever problems you are going through or results you are getting right now, there must be a root cause for it. If you are not happy with the outcome, output, or the results you are getting in your life, then you must change your input, actions, approaches, emotions, and thoughts that have been the reasons that have been causing you to get the outcome you have been getting.

If you attack your problems with the same old mindset and programming, you will still get the same output and results. Unless you change your programming and mindset about things, chances are you will still get the same results. If the old mindset has failed you, the old ways of doing things have failed you, it means then for you to get new results you are required to approach your problems, or things with a new mindset or a new programming of your mind.

There is this famous phrase that says, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” If you want to get different results you have got to be willing to change your approach and do things in a different perspective. Success is a result of specific mindset, or specific actions. What we give more of our attention is what we are going to be more apt to do. Our thoughts, behaviors, and actions create specific effects that manifest and create our lives as we have been experience them. If we are not happy with the effects we have created, then we must change the causes that have created them in the first place. Our outcome and output won’t change until we change what’s going on in our minds.

That’s why it is important for us to evaluate things, our lives, and all that concern us. We may have the willing to change, but because we don’t know better, we get stuck with our old ways of thinking, and knowledge, and information. And we can’t blame anybody; not our parents, our family members, or teachers in schools. They taught us what they knew; they passed down to us what they knew. They did their best and what they could according to what they knew, but we were given opportunity to understand the missing ingredients. Therefore, it’s our responsibility to break the boundaries and do what’s best for us, but also in turn, maybe we can teach them also, because we now know the best how.

In the Bible in the book of Romans chapter 12 verse 2, it says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

And in the book of Proverbs chapter 4 verse 7, it says, “The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom; And with all your acquiring, get understanding.”

Both Bible passages insist if you want to transform into a new person, you need to start by changing the way you think. You begin by acquiring wisdom, and make sure you understand it. If you understand it, and you know it’s best for you, you will change your thinking, your will approach things in different perspective. If you change the way you do things, or the way you have believed, wrong believing; if you change your inside, more likely your outside will also change for your outcome, output, and results will also change.
