3 Steps to Achieve What You Want

We all can achieve the things we want. If we are willing to go all the way; to work hard and persist, we can achieve and have our breakthroughs. We just have to follow proven strategies that really work. And to me, I think you only need to put few things in perspective and you are ready to make things happen.

  • Know what you want

Get clear of what you want. Here is where it’s important to create your own vision board to help you direct your mind and imagination to the things you want to achieve; your goals and your dreams.

I have a big vision board on my home office door. Each time I pass through, I see all the beautiful images of things I have put on my vision board that I need to constantly remind myself of.

You can create one of your own and put where you can see it more frequently. Fill it with beautiful images and pictures of the things you believe God for to help you bring to pass into your life. Maybe you want to buy a house; put then a beautiful image or picture of your dream house at the moment.

At this stage, don’t worry about how you are going to achieve your goal or dream. Your job at this point is to worry whether you are dreaming big enough. Because dreams can come true.

Maybe you also want to start your own business or ministry; find then a beautiful picture and image, maybe from one of the magazines that you have at home, or you can search online, or you can create your own picture collage that describes your kind of business you would like to have, and then display on your board, or your wall, etc.

The point is that you want to put those pictures of your dreams and goals constantly in your sight to remind you what you are looking forward in your present, and future life. Because out of sight, means out of mind.

You can also take a picture of your vision board and display it on your desktop or phone as a wallpaper. So that you can look at it as many times as you want.

There is this phrase by Tony Robbins that says, “If you talk about it, it’s a dream, if you envision it, it’s possible, but if you schedule it, it’s real.” This brings us to our second point.

  • Make a plan

Now you know what you want, you even have a vision board to help you with the images to describe that which you want. What is required next is to create a plan that you will use to execute and make things happen.

For instance; you want to start your own beauty salon, the best place to start is through Google search engine…hahaha. Do your research first. Find out what are the steps you need to take to start you own beauty salon. What are the requirements? For example; capital investment, and all other things.

Get yourself a beautiful notebook, find a beautiful picture that looks the same or similar to the one on your vision board, and put on the top of your page, and below start writing a plan for you to achieve your goal. You can brain dump on a piece of paper first, and then transfer all the information later on your notebook.

And there you have it, your dream and goal book with one goal already and the plan of action steps you need to take to make things happen on daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis.

You can also type your plans on the computer or your laptop, to make it nice and neat, and print it.

  • Take action

There is this famous quote that says, “The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.” Dreams and goals don’t work until you do. There is even a scripture in the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 5 verse 3, and it says, “For the dream comes through much effort.”

So, like Tony Robbins said, if you schedule it then its real. You have created you plan of action steps to take; now schedule it on your daily to do list, or on your weekly, monthly, and yearly planner. Get yourself a planner, or use a notebook with a yearly calendar view and schedule your activities and projects you have to tackle in the way that fits your daily schedule and lifestyle.

Those are the three proven steps to help you make things happen. Even if it sounds or looks easy, but when it comes to implementing and executing things, it will require you to be committed, and being persistent until you actually achieve your goals and live your dreams.

One thing I would like to add is that involve God in your plans, your goals and dreams. In the Bible, the book of Psalm chapter 127, verse 1, it says that, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” Commit your plans to God. Pray to God to establish and direct your steps.
