You know, one among the strategies to establish a successful business is to focus on building your audiences. And that can be done in few ways depending on the nature of your business. For instance if it’s an online business; it would be creating engaging contents, products, or services. You want to create really valuable contents that represent your brand very well for your audiences that will really actually have impacts on them. Unless what you put out there have an impact on them, it won’t converts them into your customers.
But another way you can build your audiences to establish a successful business is to reach out and seek them out. In order to grow your business, you have to expand your territory. So many of us we fall in the trap of creating contents and keep on creating, but then we forget to reach out. We have so many valuable contents, but have no audiences. I’m preaching to myself right now…hahaha. I have discovered that the many audiences I am expecting, they are not just going to stumble upon my website and contents; they are not just going to discover me, I have a part and responsibility to get myself out there and seek them from where they are. Sometimes we create websites, we create podcasts, and then we hope somehow we will get discovered. Well, sometimes that works, but if we truly want to succeed in business we have to go above and beyond to get our businesses out there in front of our audiences. We have got to spread our wings and reach out to new possible territories and audiences.
And there are so many ways to reach out using freely and paid routes through advertisements and promotions for instance, and through social media networks. We can join these already existing communities and established market on social media where we know our audiences are going to be there. And we don’t have to engage on all of them, we can just pick a couple of the social media networks that resonate and work well with our businesses, and use them to market ourselves out there. One thing I have realized is that sometimes just because people are not commenting or liking what you have to share, it doesn’t mean they are not reading, listening, or paying attention. Just for the fact they have subscribed and followed you, it’s a good sign they might be interested on what you have to say.
So we have to seek to find, or in another meaning, we have to search and look for, to find. Even in the kingdom of God we are told to seek. Even the Kingdom of God has its own ways of operating, doing, and obtaining things. The Lord Jesus said in the Bible in the book of Matthew chapter 6 verse 33 that “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all the things you need and want shall be added to you.” In the Amplified Bible translation it says, “But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.”
In the Kingdom of God, we need to put God first. We need to seek to do God’s Will, and as we do that, we may ask Him anything according to His Will, and He will give us. I understand why God wants to seek Him first and His righteousness. And I believe is because God wants us to seek the life that honors Him.
The world system for so many reasons has a system of its own that is different from how God’s Kingdom operates. And I will give one example; the Lord Jesus said we should not worry and be anxious like the way it’s done in the world system. In the same book of Matthew chapter 6 verses 31 and 32, the Lord Jesus said, “Therefore do not worry or be anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted), saying, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ For the [pagan] Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your Heavenly Father knows that you need them.”
Apostle Paul was going through something, and he pleaded with the Lord to take it away from him, but The Lord told him, “His grace is sufficient for him, for His power is made perfect in weakness.” In the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 12 verse 8 and 9, the Bible records that Apostle Paul said “Three times he pleaded with the Lord to take it away from him. But The Lord said to him, “His grace is sufficient for him, for His power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore he said, he will boast all the more gladly in his weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on him.”
God aids us in our weaknesses and gives us strength to overcome. For where and when we are weak, He is strong. When we feel threatened, He says not to fear, for He has power to turn those threats to work for our good if we stay in faith. In the book of Romans chapter 8 verse 28 it says, “God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.” When we think we have hit dead ends, God has a way of taking our dead ends experiences and turning them around for our advantages. And in areas of opportunities and our strengths, He empowers us to become even more impactful. Now, that is a little bit of difference from the world system SWOT Analysis, because it relies more on our own strengths and efforts to make things happen for us.
In the world system, there are a lot of taskmasters. It is recorded in the book of Matthew chapter 20 verses 25 to 28 that, “But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles have absolute power and lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them [tyrannizing them]. It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your [willing and humble] slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [paying the price to set them free from the penalty of sin].” In Living Bible translation it says, “But Jesus called them together and said, “Among the heathen, kings are tyrants and each minor official lords it over those beneath him. But among you it is quite different. Anyone wanting to be a leader among you must be your servant. And if you want to be right at the top, you must serve like a slave. Your attitude must be like my own, for I, the Messiah, did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give my life as a ransom for many.”
The world system has a system that depends more on, and worship more money and material things. The world system influences us to leave God out. The Kingdom of God insists we worship and depend on God Who allowed us to have the money and the material things. Some people would do anything to gain wealth, even if they have to kill and steal to be able to do so. And that is something God abhors. God wants us to live a life that honors Him.
Those are about a few examples of the difference between the world system and the Kingdom of God’s system of doing and obtaining things. So the Lord Jesus said, “Seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first, and all these things shall be added to you.” In the Kingdom of God, we need to put God first, learn and study of His ways. Another way it is as if as saying, as we look for God, we find a right way that pleases God of obtaining the things we need and want.
There is this story of Zacchaeus in the Bible. It records; “Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.” Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.” And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Even the Lord Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost. He came down to the earth to seek us. He came where we are to solve our problems, to provide the solution for our problems. He came to us where we are. Even after He promised in the book of Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 13 that, “We will seek Him and find Him, when we search for Him with all our hearts,” sometimes the Lord is amazing like that. Sometimes even if we refuse to seek Him because of our hardened hearts; He will still reach out to us.
Sometimes our customers are not going to just walking into our businesses. We have to put a word out there. There are lots of ways to do that for free nowadays; you can collaborate with other creatives like you to target the market they have in place. Like I mentioned before, social media networks also are very useful to seek your target market. We have to put ourselves out there and look for new opportunities for ourselves. We can go to network events, and as we connect with like-minded individuals, we also use that opportunity to put our businesses in front our potential customers and clients.
So that’s it, one more secret to success; don’t wait until they come to you or find you, but go to where they are. Consistently seek for opportunities, because some of them they won’t just fall into your lap. Seek to find.
