On our podcast, “Live to Your Full Potential,” we are doing a series “Why It’s Important To Be Born Again,” and I have to tell you that for me to do this series is amazing. One of the most important things I’m proud to do this year is this series.
I made a decision to do it because of my loved ones. I have some of them that need to understand why it’s very important they should make a decision to be born-again; it has everything to do with their destinies, now in this world, and in the afterlife.
When God partners us and place us with a lot of Toms, a.k.a, frequently doubters in our lives, He wants to use us to help them believe, therefore whenever the opportunity arises it’s good to use it to tell them about the good news. I know some of my loved ones are reading and watching my posts; so I know what I’m doing.
For my entrepreneurs’ audiences who have been requesting for me to do also entrepreneurship posts and suggesting that I should also find helpers to help here at Helen Majaga International, thank you for your feedback. I’m going to be honest with you, our budget is very tight right now, you must be our dedicated audiences and fans, so if you insist, you can work with us as interns for free and you can put that on your resumes or portfolios. Contact us on our contact page; let us know your expertise and what you can offer us.
So today since we were talking about Toms, we are going to continue with the subject of faith. I already have many posts about faith, but let’s learn more about ‘what is faith and why it’s important as believers to walk by faith.’
In the book of John chapter 20 verses 24 to 29, we see a story of Thomas, one of the Lord Jesus’ disciples while He was living physically here on earth. And Thomas even though he was with the Lord Jesus, spending time, all these times before He died and risen from the dead, there was a time he was faced with doubting issues. The Bible records, “One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came. They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in His hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in His side.” Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” He said. Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at My hands. Put your hand into the wound in My side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!” “My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed. Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen Me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing Me.”
Maybe I should ask you a question: Who told the Lord Jesus that Thomas doubted and said ‘unless I see the nail wounds in Jesus’ hands, put his fingers into them, and place his hand into the wound in the Lord Jesus’ side, then he won’t believe?’
So if you think God cannot hear you, think again. God can hear even your thoughts. Even when we don’t see Him, He is there. In the book of Matthew chapter 6 verse 6, the Lord Jesus said, “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, Who is unseen. Then your Father, Who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Another translation says, “But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, Who sees everything, will reward you.”
Thomas had an issue of unbelief. His fellow disciples told him, the Lord Jesus appeared to them, but he said, unless I see Him, then I will believe. If we can remember, even before the Lord Jesus died, He told His disciples the Son of Man as it is written in Scriptures will die and but in three days rose again from the dead. Thomas should have been excited when He heard the good news that the Lord Jesus appeared and said to his fellow disciples, ‘oh, amazing, just like He said.’ But unfortunately, he still doubted even after His disciples testifying to him that the Lord Jesus appeared to them.
I like what the Lord Jesus said, “You believe because you have seen Me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing Me.” We learn here that faith is believing God what He said even when you haven’t seen it yet by your natural eyes. You have got to believe it first by faith to see it manifested.
So we can say to walk by faith is to trust God and believe whatever He says, and act on it. Faith is trusting and believing in the Word of God, the Word of Christ. The Lord Jesus is the Word of God. Basically, faith sees the future of what God has already told you or said in the Bible.
Thomas didn’t believe what the Lord Jesus said, and what it was written of Him of His death and resurrection even after his fellow disciples came and testifies of it. He wanted to see Him with his own eye.
I mean, there are some people unless they see it, they won’t believe. They call these people “Realists, or Realistic Thinkers, or Thomas’s.” They believe after they see and not before. But we learn the secret today. The Lord Jesus said, “You are blessed when you believe without seeing Him.” If I can paraphrase it, “You are blessed when you believe the Word of God and His promises even before seeing it first come to pass into your life.” It’s a blessing to believe it before you see it.
You have to understand sometimes faith and human logic don’t go together. Many of us when we see impossible situations we walk in unbelief because we don’t see how can it be, how can we overcome our situations, even when the Word of God says, God will help us overcome, and make a way where it seems to be no way.
In the book of Luke chapter 12 verses 6 and 7, the Lord Jesus said “Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
When it comes to God’s system, His greatness, and mighty power, you have to get rid of all your limited thinking, you need to leave the system you have been trusting. When you see no way or only one way, remember God may have a million ways to help you accomplish your dreams and goals, to solve your problems, and so forth.
Do you know the numbers of your hair of your head? If you don’t know why then don’t you trust God Who knows everything about and concerning you, including the numbers of days you are going to live on this earth.
So faith is believing God on what He said and acting on it. When you don’t believe on what God said, then you will be like Thomas, you will be missing the blessing associated with believing.
We should just believe even when our small brains cannot handle it…hahaha. Just say, “Lord, I don’t how You are going to bring it to pass, but I cannot wait to see it come to pass. Please, guide me like a little child.”
In the book of Luke chapter 1 verses 26 to 38, it records that “Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One Who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.” Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.”
God may not send angel Gabriel to you to promise you something, but His Word in the Bible has enough promises concerning our lives. We can claim them into our situations, and believe that God Who promised will help us fulfill His promises in our lives.
The Bible also says in the book of Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6. “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
It is your faith that pleases God and causes Him to perform. It is the faith of a man that invokes God to perform. If God has said it, then He will do it. Faith and human logic don’t go together. Just take a leap of faith and step out. Don’t analyze too much, just hold on to God’s Voice and His Word. Whatever He speaks to you through revelation, or says to you in audible voice, or through prophecy, or whatever way, because God has many ways to speak to His people, just receive what GOD tells you by faith, and once you get it, hang on to it because you have got a robber (God’s enemy) that is trying to rob you.
In the book of Matthew 13 verses 18 to 23, the Lord said that when we hear the Word of God, the message about the Kingdom of God and do not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in our hearts.
When the Lord Jesus explained about the Parable of the Sower to His disciples when they didn’t understand, He said, “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Remember now, faith works by love, meaning that don’t claim somebody’s else husband or wife and say the Word of God says in Mark chapter 21 verses 22 to 25 that whatever I ask in prayer, I should believe that I have received it and it will be mine. It’s God’s Will for us to walk in love. Ask God to reveal to you first if there is a confusion whether it belongs to you.
Once you find out it has your name on it, just keep right attitude and Jesus in your mind. Walk by faith by taking action on what God said through His guidance, in God’s timing, or due time, you will see and have what God said.
