Holy Easter is almost here. I just wanted to wish you a Happy Easter. We will continue with our series next week.
The LORD JESUS rose again so we can have life, and life more abundantly. The life in HIM is eternal, meaning that it doesn’t end here on earth, it continues even after this life (John 3:16, John 10:10).
The Bible says in the book Matthew 28 verses 1 to 10, it says that “Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb. Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the LORD came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint. Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for JESUS, Who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as He said would happen. Come, see where His body was lying. And now, go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead, and He is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see Him there. Remember what I have told you.” The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message. And as they went, JESUS met them and greeted them. And they ran to Him, grasped His feet, and worshiped Him. Then JESUS said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell My brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see Me there.”
There are few things we learn from this Bible passage.
One, the Bible says the angel told them that He is risen from the dead just as He said would happen. What an assurance. So we learn here, if the LORD said something, then in appointed time it will happen. All we have got to do is to stand in faith believing it will happen. Not according to our time, but GOD’s timing. If you read the book of John chapter 13 verse 1 for instance, the Scripture says “It was just before the Passover Festival. JESUS knew that the hour had come for Him to leave this world and go to the FATHER. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.” So GOD has time for promises to be fulfilled. The LORD JESUS was working and living according to time. Everything about HIS Life on earth was purposeful filled and lived. HE did everything according to GOD’s timing.
The Bible records in the Book of John chapter 7 verses 1 to 10 that “After this, JESUS went around in Galilee. He did not want to go about in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill Him. But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near, JESUS’ brothers said to Him, “Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that Your disciples there may see the works You do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since You are doing these things, show Yourself to the world.” For even His own brothers did not believe in Him. Therefore JESUS told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do. The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify that its works are evil. You go to the festival. I am not going up to this festival, because My time has not yet fully come.” After He had said this, He stayed in Galilee. However, after His brothers had left for the festival, He went also, not publicly, but in secret.”
Another thing we also learn is that the angel told them He is going ahead of you. GOD is always ahead of us. We don’t wait on GOD, He is the One Who is waiting on us. GOD is always orchestrating and working things on our behalf behind the scenes ahead of time, so that by the time we get there, things will be already put in motion for us. So when GOD promised us something we just need to follow His Guidance. He will guide us to where He is taking us. And we need to pray to GOD to help us discern things, to open our eyes and show us what He is doing in our lives.
In the book of Proverbs chapter 29 verse 18, it says that “If people can’t see what GOD is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed.” So it’s not enough to know and see what GOD is doing, but we need to act upon it. When we do that that’s when we are most blessed and benefited.
The third thing we learn is that the angel told them they need to remember what he has told them. We need to keep remembering the promises of GOD. Whether you took it from the Bible and declare it to your own situation, or whether The HOLY SPIRIT Of GOD spoke to you personally, or He sent His angel, just keep declaring GOD is faithful, if He promised it then He will do it in appointed time.
The fourth thing we learn is that as they went, the LORD JESUS met them. It means that we are supposed to do something. Many times before GOD’s promises come to pass into our lives, it will be process that we have to go through. It depends on the promise though. For instance, some people get healed instantly, others gradually. Sometimes GOD may promise you today but it will actually be fulfilled ten to even thirty years later. So in-between GOD will be guiding you, by the time you get there in appointed time it will be fulfilled.
The fifth thing is that sometimes it may get rough. When GOD intervenes, it may get rough. The Scripture says “Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the LORD came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it.” Who rolled aside the stone? It was the angel. There are times GOD will send the angel to roll the stones in your life that are trying to put you into graves; financial graves, marital graves, career graves. And the angel it may not be like the ones you think, they could be just normal people in your life. GOD spoke to them to come and help you.
We see this in the story of resurrection of Lazarus. It says in the book of John chapter 11 verses 38 to 44 that “Then JESUS, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. JESUS said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “LORD, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.” JESUS said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of GOD?” Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And JESUS lifted up His eyes and said, “FATHER, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. JESUS said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”
So there are so many lessons we can learn from the Scriptures, especially the Resurrection Of The LORD JESUS CHRIST. We learn that He defeated death, the enemy of life. Hell could not keep HIM on the grave. Death could not overcome HIM. In the third day He rose again from the dead.
You know what also amazes me is in the last verse; the LORD JESUS told them “Don’t be afraid!” GOD doesn’t want us to be afraid, but instead have faith in HIM. I don’t know how many times the LORD JESUS has been recorded saying do not fear. Even after His Resurrection, He said to them “Don’t be afraid!” So fear is really an issue for so many of us. If it wasn’t, the LORD JESUS wouldn’t say it over and over. The enemy uses fear to create barriers and hindrances into our lives so we won’t live to our full potentials and fulfill GOD’s purposes and Will for our lives. But GOD wants us to overcome fear with faith to break those hindrances and barriers. GOD wants us to trust HIM. We need to cast our cares to Him for He cares for us.
That’s it my online friends. Enjoy your Easter and remember to receive the LORD JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR. He died on the Cross on our behalf so that He could become a ransom for our sins. He is the Lamb of GOD Who came to take away the sin of the world. In the book of John chapter 1 verse 29, it says “The next day John saw JESUS coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of GOD who takes away the sin of the world!” Through HIM, we receive Salvation of our souls. The LORD JESUS is the only way to our HEAVENLY FATHER. You don’t know the way to Heaven, but HE knows the way, and HE is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the FATHER except through HIM (John 14:6).
Have a wonderful Easter!
