I have come to notice that nowadays there are a lot of online Churches or e-Churches. They try to make it easier for Christians for so many reasons. One, is what we are discussing today, persecution. If you are going to be living as a Born-Again Christian, you will be persecuted for the LORD JESUS CHRIST sake. Them demons don’t want you to live holy. We are surrounded by the world corrupted system, and it’s not easy to escape it without being persecuted one way or another.
In this episode 108 of “Live to Your Full Potential Podcast,” you will find that the Bible says that when we decide to live a righteous life, when we decide to live for CHRIST, you will face persecution. In fact there is this Bible scripture that amazes me, it’s in the book of Matthew chapter 10 verses 29 and 3, and The LORD JESUS said that “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.”
It says we will receive hundred times as much in this present age, homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields, but then He says along with persecutions. And then He continued, in the age to come, we will receive eternal life. So persecution is a Christian portion. The LORD JESUS was aware of the dangers and hardships we would face following HIM. He wanted us to know what we were getting ourselves into. He wanted us to know of the blessings and riches that would become ours in the Kingdom of GOD, but also He wanted us to know the obstacles we would face on our way.
But then He said on the book of Matthew 10 verse 16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”
So here He instructed us how to behave. He uses two metaphors here; if we are HIS, and follow HIM truly, then we are sheep or doves, who are sent to live or start ministries among wolves or serpents. He said we are going to be persecuted, but we need to be wise as serpents but yet harmless as doves. He didn’t say to be deceptive and cruel like them. He wants us to be wise as a way of dealing with situations and people, but in a positive, honesty, and harmless ways. We need to be wise by perceiving and avoiding danger and escaping from it. We need to be harmless and innocent in effect or intention so we won’t injure or inflicting physical or mental damage to those people we are sent to, surrounded with, and GOD has placed in our lives.
